Our Team

Although I usually try to take a lighthearted approach to challenges, preparing for the Vendee Globe is no laughing matter. Of the many lessons learned from the 2002/2003 Around Alone, the most significant is an awareness of the magnitude of the challenge the Vendee presents. Nonstop, solo, around the world. Yikes.

But the reality is that the Vendee (or the Around Alone) is in truth far from a solo event. One must have a full-time team of motivated people to help you prepare, and the support of MANY to raise the money needed. Without the cash donations and sponsorship support it would be impossible to face this monumental task. I am relentless and stubborn, but I know that I am not doing it alone.

So I would like to take a minute to thank ALL of you who have made donations, and hope that those of you thinking about it will find a reason to join us. We DO need your continued cash support.

I would also now like to introduce the great Supplier Sponsors who have joined our Team. Several of them are returning Supplier Sponsors from the Around Alone, in which I take great pride.

In alphabetical order:
Coast-Line Composites International: Composites materials and supplies.
Doyle Sailmakers: Durable and fast sails for our unique unstayed mast.
Equiplite Lightweight Connectors: Brilliant lightweight sailing hardware.
Infomatrix: Database, and logistical support for the Made in America Foundation.
MAS Epoxies: Quality resins used in our unstayed mast, hull, and modifications.
Nobeltec: World-wide digital charting, and PC compatible radar system.
Portland Yacht Services: Our host for our Vendee preparation.
Samson rope technologies: The latest in high performance ropes.
Solara Energy: Breakthrough technology in solar power.
WoodenBoat Magazine: Print and media support. Wood is wonderful!

I invite other sponsors to join our great Team.

Thanks for following!

Bruce Schwab, Skipper
